London’s Newest Art Exhibition is here

From galleries, to immersive exhibitions to traditional museums ; London is one of the most well known cities in the world for it’s cultural hub.

Art in all its shapes and forms is celebrated around the British capital and today we’re presenting you with the newest, most interesting exhibition for the months of April-May.

Addis Fine Art Gallery (owned by Rakeb Sile and Mesai Haileleul) opened in October 2021 in London after being established as one of the leading galleries in

Africa. Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, the gallery’s commitment is to heighten international exposure for, and critical reappraisal of, African art on the world stage. As a hub for emerging artists, this month’s exhibition is no different, where Ethiopian artist Tizta Berhanu presents “Synthesis of Souls”.

So what makes this exhibition one you MUST see if you’re in London between 27 April - 27 May 2023? Well, whenever we look at art, create it or simply watch it being made, it invokes emotion in us and it is meant to bring us closer to our vulnerable nature as humans. All exhibitions make you feel something, whatever emotion that may be, and an artist knows just how important it is to make people feel through their art, not just present it to them. Tizta Berhanu takes that exact idea and theme to create her painting in this exhibition. She explores humanity’s full spectrum of emotions in her figurative paintings.

Her paintings tell stories of love, intimacy, kinship, and motherhood flow across her compositions. All of her paintings are composed and bathed in swathes of jewel-like primary colours. The gallery describes Tizta’s figures as “painted with expressive brushstrokes, often weaved into layers of the canvas’ abstract background”. Beautifully presented and meticulously crafted, always interlaced in each other’s embrace, her figures express the beauty of the human touch.

If you’re someone who appreciates one of the most famous forms of art (paintings) and always enjoys a good story which indulges you in emotion, this is the exhibition for you. Not just that, but it would be a great experience for anyone looking to connect more to art, and African culture and see some great craftsmanship. It is also a really good opportunity to support up-and-coming artists,

and acknowledge artists from ethnic minorities, who give us the representation that is missing in the media and art world, which this society desperately needs.

Synthesis of Souls is from the 27th of April- to the 27th of May 2023 at Addis Fine Art Gallery at 21 Eastcastle Street, London W1W 8DD.

Stay tuned for more art and immersive exhibitions coming up this month in London!
